Abstract
Several complex systems, found both in nature (neurons in the brain, flocks of birds, etc.) and in our daily lives (power grids, telecommunications systems, etc.), can be modeledas networks of oscillators. In these networksnumerous collective phenomena are manifested, among which we can mention: synchronization, traveling waves, chimeras, bellerophons, etc. On the other hand, Kuramoto-like models have beenwidely used to describe and understand the mechanisms underlying such phenomena. Taking this class of models (Kuramoto) as a starting point, in the present project we will investigate several dynamic aspects of these phenomena on two main fronts:(i) characterization of basins of attraction of the q-twisted states and (ii) study and characterization of other states such as "non-uniform" equilibrium states, traveling waves and chimeras.
