Abstract

The MonDesa project, dedicated to Disaster Monitoring, will be divided into two phases: "Mon", focusing on the theoretical survey and design of technologies, and "Desa", addressing practical applications or case studies. This project for visiting researchers will concentrate on the first phase, with a duration of 12 months. The main objective is to conduct a detailed study of telemetry solutions that have been recently developed or researched, particularly wireless sensor networks, for in situ disaster monitoring. Based on this survey, a metric will be proposed to evaluate the quality of these solutions, taking into account their specific application in disaster monitoring. The research aims to publish at least 2 scientific articles on the findings. We expect that the results will aid public authorities, scientists, and engineers in recognizing the significance of in situ sensor networks as a critical component in early warning systems for potential disasters.
