This project aims to analyze help-seeking predictors in a sample of Brazilian women residing in peripheral neighborhoods of Ribeirão Preto and propose strategies to facilitate this group's access to formal and informal social support available in the territory covered by reference primary care units. for this population. The research problem is based on the existing gap between needs, demands and access to mental health care and formal and informal sources of social support. The proposal values the cultural aspects that permeate this issue and aims to include people from the community in the development of the research in its different stages. The project is theoretically based on cultural psychiatry, is aligned with an American research group and focuses on the mental health of women residing in the peripheral communities of the municipality. Data will be collected using psychometric scales and open questions, the analyzes used will be statistical tests and content analysis respectively and after the participatory consolidation of the answer to the proposed questions, a product (flowchart or protocol) will be developed to favor the search for help within the specificities of the community and the studied group.
