Abstract

The objective of the project will be to evaluate the eating and sleeping pattern of athletes during an ultramarathon, in addition to the relationship with nutritional knowledge, beliefs and eating habits related to the sport. Data collection will take place with athletes of the "Brazil 135 Ultramarathon". In the month before the competition, 32 athletes will receive self-administered questionnaires to assess health characteristics, sports history, sleep pattern (Horne and Ostberg Chronotype, Munich Chronotype Questionnaire, Mini Sleep Questionnaire, Athlete Sleep Behavior Questionnaire, daytime sleepiness), nutritional knowledge, beliefs and eating habits. They will also have their diet and sleep evaluated before, during and after the ultramarathon, and the athletes will use an actigraph from the week before, until the week following the competition. The sample will complete a food record of what they consume during the event. For data analysis, the choice of tests will be made after evaluating the normality of the sample. Tests will be chosen to compare the variables and evaluate the association between the parameters (significance p<0.05). (AU)
