Abstract

Leadership and patient safety are important issues, listed as a priority by the Ministry of Health. In this sense, this study aims to develop, implement and evaluate an educational program on resonant leadership and to verify whether the outcomes of this program are related to hospital indicators of turnover and absenteeism. This is an experimental, historical control study to be carried out in two philanthropic hospital institutions located in the state of São Paulo. A survey of hospital turnover and absenteeism indicators will be carried out in the 6 months prior to the implementation of the educational program. At the same time, the Resonant Leadership Scale, validated in Brazil by Maziero in 2022, will be applied. Afterwards, a training program will be developed and implemented for nurses on resonant leadership, with consequent monitoring of hospital indicators of turnover and absenteeism in the 6 months afterwards. The Resonant Leadership Scale will be applied again to check whether this leadership model has been grasped after the educational program. It is hoped that this study will assess whether resonant leadership improves the selected indicators, demonstrating that patient safety is associated with leadership skills. (AU)
