Abstract

The main idea of the collaboration between the University of São Paulo and the University of Alberta, specifically The Metabolomic Innovation Center (TMIC, Wishart Node), is to improve the strength of Brazilian research in beef cattle metabolomics. TMIC is one of the most important research centers for metabolomics analysis globally, so the opportunity to develop something in collaboration with them will enhance the power of our research in Brazil. Additionally, it will allow us to send graduate and undergraduate students, who will receive FAPESP scholarships, to TMIC, providing them with international experience and expanding their network.Dr. Wishart and Dr. Cônsolo's research projects are complementary. Dr. David Wishart is a Distinguished University Professor with expertise in metabolomics, analytical chemistry, and various spectroscopic techniques. His involvement in the "Human Metabolome Project" and the "Bovine Metabolome Database" demonstrates his ability to create comprehensive metabolite libraries. He is also the head of TMIC Wishart Node, responsible for creating optimization systems for metabolomic analysis. On the other hand, Dr. Nara Regina Brandão Cônsolo specializes in animal science, meat science, and metabolomics. Her expertise includes experimental design, NMR spectroscopy, spectral processing, and data interpretation. (AU)
