Abstract

The stricto sensu postgraduate course in Health Sciences at Centro Universitário FMABC, Master's level, was recommended by CAPES in 12/2002, opinion no. 079/2003, and the Doctorate was accredited in 2010. These courses aim to train qualified human resources in the biological and health areas for teaching and research, meeting the demand of the Region and the State.Research activities grew significantly and continuously, resulting in an increase in the number of postgraduate students and scientific publications. This trend intensified with the recognition of the institution as a university center in 2018 (Ordinance no. 1,167, of November 9, 2018, approves Opinion no. 492/2018 of the Câmara de Educação Superior do Conselho Nacional de Educação regarding the e-MEC process No. 201608678), renamed "Centro Universitário FMABC".The quantitative and, mainly, qualitative growth of the Postgraduate Program can be verified through the increase in the flow of students and scientific production, despite the COVID-19 pandemic. There was a 21% increase in degrees, in addition to 20.7% in the scientific production in the 2017-2020 four-year period compared to the previous four-year period 2013-2016. Scientific production with international collaboration remained above 30% of total production. Production in collaboration with national institutions has always been between 40% and 50% of total production, showing the institution's commitment to establishing partnerships and collaborations that increase its visibility and impact. In this way, this project aims to maintain the qualitative growth rate by equipping the physical and functional structure of the current Multi-User Laboratory, following the modern conception of a unified and integrated Laboratory, obeying the prioritization of collective use for common tasks. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the existing laboratory with equipment that meets the institucional growing research demand, and that also establishes a functional connection with other equipment previously acquired. Furthermore, the software for managing the Ethics Committee on the Use of Animals prevents errors when filling out the proposal submission form, preventing the project from being left pending due to errors in filling out the form, delaying its approval and facilitating the preparation of reports that the Coordination of CEUA must send it to the National Animal Experimentation Control Council (CONCEA) annually. In addition, it has a system for creating intelligent minutes, a document tracking screen, definition of mandatory documents for submission, graphic layout of CEUA activities and sending meeting notices.
