Abstract

Based on an intense and long experience of research in the anthropology of tourism, the aim is to share and dialogue with the receiving team about opportunities for developing local and community-based tourism projects with a sustainable and responsible orientation, with the aim of strengthening the sense of community and its reinvention. Furthermore, I intend to share ideas about new global trends in regenerative tourism, as an anthropological critique of the use and abuse of sustainable tourism as a "decorative speech and make-up for projects" that are in reality neither sustainable nor socially responsible. I also intend, during the research stay, to carry out exploratory participant observation with field ethnography and also to document and ethnograph how the residents of the Jamaraquá, Maguari and São Domingos communities of the Tapajós National Forest are carrying out tourism activities and how researchers are conducting research on the ground to better guide and supervise their engagement activities with communities in relation to community-based tourism.
