Abstract

This project was born from a ten-year trajectory of research into Geometry in Mathematics textbooks (TB), and the integration of technologies. The results encourage reflections on the different approaches to geometric concepts present in different TB, as well as in the scope of activities involving technology. However, concerns arose with the New High School - NHS, so that questions relating to its dynamics, especially regarding teaching material in this context, became a focus of interest. The National Textbook and Teaching Material Program - PNLD encouraged the creation of six works on 'Mathematics and its Technologies' for the NHS, no longer one for each year, as previously, in addition to the creation of new books, such as Integrating Projects and Life Project. Furthermore, the National Common Curricular Base - BNCC also imposed changes to the PNLD, which culminated in transformations of the TB. This qualitative research is inserted in this context, based on documentary analysis, whose guiding question is: what are the changes in the approach to Geometry and how is the use of technologies proposed in NEM Mathematics TB? Understanding how the different collections structured the six self-contained books can elucidate the relationships between Geometry and other thematic units and, thus, contribute to the analysis of the presence of Geometry in the NHS collections approved by the PNLD. From this analysis it is possible to advance the results of previous research, identifying changes in approaches to the topic in TB. It is also expected to highlight suggestions for using technologies, with a view to identifying and discussing possible changes in NHS materials. .Furthermore, a contribution, even if indirect, can be made to the PNLD, since the research results can encourage the improvement of this material, so that the issues addressed can provide support for both the authors of textbooks and the PNLD evaluators.
