Flexible and conductive platforms based on 2D materials for detecting analytes of biological interest indicators of human health

Abstract

The miniaturization of sensors and their integration into electronic equipment is essential for robotics, Internet of Things, and artificial intelligence applications. Direct application to the human body, animals, plants, packaging, requires flexible and/or wearable sensors, preferably obtained with low-cost and easily scalable techniques. In this Project, sensors with flexible structures will be manufactured by combining graphene-based materials and MXenes, which are 2D materials with high electrical conductivity. Different techniques will be explored to obtain self-sustaining films and to deposit the material on a flexible substrate. After optimizing the composition and complete physicochemical characterization, the platforms will be used in electrical or electrochemical techniques for the detection of analytes of biological interest to confirm their potential to be applied in wearable sensors.
