Subsidies for the installation of the Indigenous Documentation Center - actions by the Museum of Archaelogy and Ethnology

Abstract

In partnership with indigenous communities, the Indigenous Documentation Center will combine collaborative research, teaching and cultural dissemination by enabling the creation of a digital repository of collections based on qualified documentation of linguistic and cultural knowledge of indigenous peoples in Brazil and neighbor countries. Structured from two major lines of research (linguistic and anthropological), it will focus on the documentation of linguistic knowledge, with special emphasis on endangered languages, and the documentation of intangible knowledge, especially those associated with the production of material culture and the relationships with the landscape. These lines will work in direct dialogue with the object collections and archaelogical research conducted by MAE USP and partner museums. (AU)
