EMU: Acquisition of Odyssey M Chemi/Fluor and Attune NxT Flow Cytometer Equipment for the Laboratory of the Interdisciplinary Program in Health Sciences at Cruzeiro do Sul University

Abstract

This research project aims at acquiring and sharing the ODYSSEY M CHEMI/FLUOR and Attune NxT Flow Cytometer equipments among researchers from the São Paulo State. The functions of the ODYSSEY M CHEMI/FLUOR include the capacity for multiplex analysis and channel overlay, optimizing efficiency and consistency in analyses such as Western blot, ELISA, protein quantification, and analyses of H&E-stained slides and tissues. Meanwhile, the Attune NxT Flow Cytometer stands out for its versatility, efficiency, and advanced acoustic technology, providing precise analyses of up to 14 cellular parameters simultaneously. The project aims to broaden access to advanced technologies not readily available for the most researchers involved in Health Sciences. The state-of-the-art equipments proposed in this project will ensure an integrated and comprehensive analysis, contributing to significant advances in the understanding of cellular and molecular mechanisms involved in differen biological processes. Beyond its importance for the project, the acquisition will benefit researchers already supporting the initiative and future users from São Paulo. The project underscores efficient management with clear usage guidelines and is supported by the Office of Institutional Research Support of the Cruzeiro do Sul University. Noteworthy is the participation of researchers from the Faculty of Medicine and the Institute of Biomedical Sciences of University of São Pauo (USP). The proximity to the Multiuser Laboratory will benefit these groups, as well as researchers from other institutions expressing interest in its use. In summary, the project aims not only to acquire advanced equipments but also to promote a favorable environment to perform significant advancements in scientific research in the knowledge of the science.
