Abstract

Waste producers face significant challenges when seeking effective methods to promote the reuse of discarded materials. On the other hand, artisans and workshops find it difficult to sell their upcycling products, while at the same time dealing with the challenges of managing the process. To provide an improvement in this process, this project sought to propose the development of a management support platform and a recommendation system based on artificial intelligence (AI), in order to connect waste producers with artisans and buyers. The project opted for a platform as a service (SaaS) that will house the solution that will include a module for financial management, decision-making support, traceability, among others. The use of AI, as a recommendation system, will make an assertive connection between actors in the upcycling process (creative and sustainable process that transforms discarded materials into products of greater value or utility). As a standard, an assertiveness percentage above seventy percent was defined. For validation, the F1 score rate will be used, which will be detailed in the methodology. Through the development of this project, the expectation is of a significant innovation in the upcycle process, expanding interactions between the various actors involved. This project aims to facilitate the reuse of materials and products, promoting close collaboration between interested parties. With this, we promote the reduction of waste and idleness, in addition to valuing artisanal work even more. (AU)
