Abstract

This proposal describes the research and academic activities to be developed/carried out by the Visiting Researcher during his 11 months of visit, from March 16th, 2025 to February 15th, 2026, at the "Departamento de Química" of "Faculdade de Filosofia, Ciências e Letras de Ribeirão Preto" (FFCLRP) - "Universidade de São Paulo" (USP), Ribeirão Preto/SP campus. Activities include a workshop, lectures/seminars, a course for the Postgraduate Program in Chemistry, lanthanide doped materials preparation and characterization of structural, morphological, optical, and spectroscopic properties to be used in hyperspectral bioimaging, nanothermometry, optical waveguiding, photocatalysis and theranostics. The visit of Prof. Dr. Lauro June Queiroz Maia will allow to work in collaboration with students and professors from the host institution (FFCLRP-USP), as well as with partners from institutions that are part of a Thematic Project supported by FAPESP agency, thus enabling the exchange of scientific knowledge and skills of research between students and the visiting researcher. In addition to training students through academic discussions, workshops and assistance in carrying out experiments, and collecting and analyzing data, the visit of the visiting researcher may also allow the creation of new scientific knowledge as a result of research activities to be carried out in collaboration with postgraduate students and the host, as well as enabling publications of scientific papers. The final part of this document deals with the general objectives, the main experimental research to be carried out during the visit, the expected benefits and the schedule of activities to be developed during 11 months of the scientific work at FFCLRP-USP.
