Abstract

The research project uses techniques from integrable field theories and soliton theory to study non-linear phenomena and non-perturbative aspects of field theories of physical interest. It consists of three main topics: i) the study of integrability structures in non-abelian gauge theories (Yang-Mills) using their integral equations, their conserved charges, and the role of one-form connections in loop spaces, ii) applications of the concept of self-duality to soliton solutions for field theories of physical interest, iii) the construction, through numerical techniques, of Skyrmion solutions for a modified Skyrme model, that possesses an exact self-dual sector, with applications to Nuclear Physics.
