Abstract

This research project aims to investigate the technical and economic aspects of engineered flooring made from lignocellulosic waste (reforested wood) and high-density plastic waste, combined with low-grade castor oil polyurethane resin. The fellows will work in different technological stages involving the production and physical and mechanical evaluation of the engineered flooring, and in another aspect, analyzing the economic feasibility of the process, structuring methodologies to measure direct and indirect costs, project potential revenues, and assess positive environmental externalities.
