Abstract

The course "Decoding Complexity: Digital Archaeology, Advanced Geospatial Analysis Methods, and Complex Systems Modeling" offers an intensive immersion into cutting-edge digital tools for archaeology and related fields. The program includes practical workshops on Terrain Analysis, Remote Sensing, and 3D Analysis in GIS using GRASS, empowering participants to perform advanced manipulation and modeling of geospatial data; and an Agent-Based Modeling (ABM) workshop with NetLogo, introducing the simulation of complex systems based on the dynamics of interactive entities. Additionally, the course involves participation in the 1st Brazilian Interdisciplinary Symposium on Agent-Based Models (SIMBRA), offering an in-depth, interdisciplinary perspective on applying these methodologies to unravel the complexity of natural and social systems.
