Abstract

In this study, the difference in the climatic anomalies over the subtropical part of the Americas during several Enos events is examined. The differences observed in the phase and intensity of the almost stationary cyclonic circulation between these events will be studied through the analysis of the characteristics of the anomalous convective warming in the central Pacific. By means of observational studies and numerical experiments with a baroclinical model of primitive equations, the response of the atmosphere to various types of thermal forcings will be shown. Data derived from simulations carried out with the CCM3/NCAR model, which used monthly averages of observed TSM, will also be analyzed. (AU)
