Abstract

This project seeks to consolidate and develop theoretic and practical training in the analysis and design of the dynamic behavior of fluctuating systems of production of petroleum under the action of marine environmental agents: waves, winds and strong currents. The project covers the definition of mathematical models of various degrees of freedom for the numerical simulation of the movement of the system, including, in addition to the dynamic of the rigid body and hydrodynamic reactions, the action of waves, winds, strong currents and anchorage. Several models will have to be used, varying in degree of complexity and number of parameters. The project includes the numeric investigation of these models, with the use of geometric methods of the non-linear dynamic. Based on qualitative results (on the nature of the response) and quantitative results (on the parameters of response measurement), the research intends to draw conclusions on the design of these systems. Throughout the project, the numeric methods used should be incorporated to computer programs with graphic input and output interfaces and adequate documentation, aimed thus at its re-use and refinement in future research.
