Abstract

The specific objectives of this project are: 1) means of obtaining and properties of detergents and polyelectrolytes, focusing on the influence of the density of electrical charge and the nature of the counterion on the formation of polyelectrolytes and the aggregation of ionic detergents in aqueous and non-aqueous medium; 2) studies of solubilization by detergents and polyelectrolytes, using photophysical methodology and spectroscopic techniques to investigate the incorporation of colorants, exchange of counterions, micro environments of solubilization and properties of interfacial water; 3) studies of the influence of solutions of detergents and polyelectrolytes on acid-based equilibriums and on the velocity of a series of chemical and photochemical reactions (acyl transfer, nucleophilic photosubstitution and protonation of electronically excited states).
