Abstract

The watermelon is one of the most consumed fruit of the world, traditionally it is cultivated in field. It is cultivation in greenhouses has been growing a lot at the Mediterranean countries. In Brazil that cultivation is still little practiced, mainly due to lack of technical information for our soil and climatic conditions. Information as water consumption, the nutritional needs of the crop and an economical evaluation of that production system would attract the producers certainly for that activity. The experiment will be accomplished in the Department of Rural Engineering of the Agriculture College "Luiz of Queiroz" USP, in Piracicaba-SP inside plastic greenhouse appraise in two cultural cycles, 2006 and 2007, with factorial outline 5 x 5, and arrangement statistician models Pan Puebla totaling 11 treatments and six repetitions. That project proposes: to determine the evapotranspiration with lisimiters use, to evaluate the effects of the fertigation with five levels of nitrogen, combined with five potassium levels, through the analysis of the growth curve and evaluation of the quality and productivity of fruits of watermelon - type without seeds.
