Effect of follicular dominance on in vivo recovery rate and on in vitro oocyte competence in Bubalus bubalis, Bos indicus and Bos taurus

Abstract

In the present study two experiments will be performed, in order to evaluate OPU time effect on in vitro embryo production in Bubalus bubalis, Bos indicus and Bos taurus. For this purpose the first follicular wave will be synchronized with progestin associated to estradiol benzoate plus injectable progesterone. OPU will be performed 2, 4 and 6 days after follicular wave emergence, in a cross-over design. Variables analyzed will be recovery rate, oocyte quality (number of cumulus oophorus layers and cytoplasm aspect) and embryo quality (cleavage rate, blastocyst yield, hatching rate, and nucleus counting).
