Abstract
For the great majority of authors, hilar limphnode metastasis constitutes a contraindication for liver resection, however, few studies had evaluated the standard of limphnodes micrometastasis during hepatectomy in patients whithout preoperative radiologic evidence or intraoperative macrocospic findings of limphnode metastasis. Objective: To analyze the prevalence and characteristics of hepatic hilum limphonodal micrometastasis in patients submitted to liver resection for colorectal metastasis; Correlate the clinical and pathological data with the standard of linfonodal micrometastasis, in order to define factors that can predict an increase of its prevalence. Causistic and methods: Patients with coloretal cancer metastasis submitted to liver resection will be prospectively studied. Preoperative evaluation will be carried out with liver function tests and tumour markers. Patients will also be submitted to radiologic staging with thoracic and abdominal CT scan and colonoscopy if indicated. Will be enclosed patients with good clinical conditions and normal liver function, after the control of primary disease and absence of extrahepatic metastasis. (AU)
