An infrastructure for inter-organizational business process management using product line

Abstract

It is now common that organizations subcontract partner services. The Internet and the oriented-service computing can facilitate service exchange and increase the scope of Business Process Management (BPM) from intra-organizational processes to cooperative processes among organizations. To support BPM activities, it is necessary an infrastructure allowing process description; negotiation and establishment of electronic contracts; reuse of contracts, processes and services; and monitoring and auditing of processes. As BPM deals with large volumes of complex data, it can benefit from reuse techniques in process modeling, execution and monitoring. In this proposal, the Line Product approach and feature modeling are used for allowing more efficient and systematic information reuse within the BPM context. (AU)
