Abstract

currently, in the citriculture, the Brazil stands out among the major world producers, with the State of Sao Paulo accounts for 90% of its production. Most orchards using the trickle irrigation system due to both water savings and the facility of application of fertilizers. This technique is called fertigation and has several advantages: high efficiency of fertilizer uniformity of fertilizer application, set the required amounts of nutrients to the plant phenological stage and the possibility of splitting the required amounts of nutrients for the same application or small amounts of nutrient. Using this technique, it is necessary to monitor the amount of water and nutrient content in the soil so there is the adjustment of its parameters as required by culture. Monitoring can be done with the aid of solution extractors and tensiometers. However, when it comes to soil characteristics, it is known that Brazil has soils with naturally acidic characteristics and the application of conventional soluble fertilizers have to be greater the acidity of these soils, and currently is one of the problems faced by Brazilian citrus. This study aims to evaluate the acidification that occurs in the wet bulb, next to the receiving fertigation in orange orchards and alternatives to minimize this effect. (AU)
