Abstract

Two experiments with turkeys will be lead in the experimental installations of the FMVZ-UNESP, Botucatu. In experiment I the efficiency of different preventive programs of coccidiose for turkeys will be evaluated, for this, will be used 504 turkeys of the one day, of a commercial ancestry, divided in four treatments with six repetitions, being they: T1 diet has controlled, without use of anticoccidians drugs and vaccination against coccidiose; T2- diet increased of anticoccidiana drug up to 64 days of age; T3 vaccination of the turkeys against coccidiose; T4- vaccination of the turkeys against coccidiose and the suplementação with biological promoters (competitive exclusion) soon after the birth, for saw "spray" and suplementação in the ration daily pay-initial up to 21 days of an energy proteic complex. The vaccination will be carried through in the incubatório, with attenuated vaccine. The birds will be lodged with density of 21 birds/m² up to seven days, 9,8 birds/m² between 8o day and 6a week and 4,5 birds/m² until the age of abates it. To the five days of age the birds will be submitted to the challenge of coccidiose, carried through with aspersion of a super dosage of vaccine (five times that one recommended) on the birds. The evaluated characteristics will be of performance (profit of weight, corrected alimentary conversion, consumption of ration and mortality), intestinal morfometric (length weight of the intestine and its portions, integrity and length of villus and depth of kripty), prop up of injuries for coccidiose, counting of oocistos and cost of the preventive programs. The intestine collections will be carried through to the 14, 21, 28 and 72. The performance will be evaluated weekly and to the end of the total period. The counting of oocistos will be carried through weekly. Experiment II will be carried through for evaluation of the óssea quality of the turkeys submitted the four treatments, which will be identical to those used in experiment I. In this experiment, the bone quality of the birds will be evaluated to the 14, 28, 42, 56, 72 and 100 days of age. For this, five birds for treatment will be collected, in each age of collection, which will be sacrificed by cervical displacement. Of them the legs will be removed, for macrocospic evaluation of injury for femoral degeneration. Later the legs that will be taken to the hospital Veterinarian of the FMVZ where will be radiographic and tomographic for evaluation of the bone density of tibiae and femurs. After such evaluations the tibiae will have epífise proximal sawed longitudinally for maroscópica evaluation of injury for tibial discondroplasia. The tibiae and femurs will be, still, submitted to the analysis of text of dry substance, ósseas leached ashes text and text of calcium and match. To the 100 days of age the remaining birds will be abated, in the Experimental Slaughter of the FMVZ for the macrocospic evaluation of incidence of femoral degeneration and discondropasia tibial in turkeys.
