Abstract

The purpose of this research is to gather information about the profile of professional journalists of the Estado de S. Paulo and their point of view about their work. The collected data will be compared with the discourse (of the companies of communication, of the media in general and of the academia) about journalism and the future of this profession. It is estimated to be very urgent a in-depth study on the changes taking place in journalism and that this study should be performed using the binomial communication and work, which mobilizes the view of human activity (ergology), to understand the professional practices in the context of the merger of media and working relationships increasingly precarious. The project will address the empirical object - sample of professional journalists of the Estado de São Paulo – beginning with quantitative methods (to line the profile of socio-economic and cultural consumption) and Qualitative methods (interviews and focus groups) to collect the reports on professional Practices, which will be analyzed by means of discourse analysis and input from bakhtinian dialogic. As a result it is expected a map of the profile of the professional of journalism and the view of this professional about their work, so it can be understood what their commitment to the right to information is, and to be able to draw more fruitful ways to their university formation.
