Abstract

The project´s objective is to describe factors related to adolescents´ eating attitudes, such as determinants of food choice, to understand the role of family meals and its relation to their food consumption and nutritional status, to evaluate attitudes that can be related to eating disorders´ risk behaviors and body dissatisfaction and their interaction. In Brazil many studies were developed in order to evaluate adolescents' food consumption and nutritional status but not the interaction of these factors described above. The study population will be composed by adolescents in both genders, from high school in the city of São Paulo. A random selection will be performed from 7538 students and a proportional probabilistic sample of 2112, in a total of 15 schools. Possible associations and correlations between food consumption, nutritional status, food choice determinants, frequency of family meals, eating disorders risk behaviors and body dissatisfaction of the selected sample will be evaluate. The results will be presented in scientific papers that will be submitted in Brazilian and international journals. (AU)
