Abstract
The aim of this project is to produce knowledge on the relation between word and discourse, considering the deplacements that the concept of silence brings to the Discourse Analysis. First, it will be made a lecture of theoretical texts with the purpose of constructing an analytical device to observe city words in discourses and developping procedures that take into account the forms of silence, as conceived by E. Orlandi (1992) in As formas do silêncio. The corpus will be composed by a set of city words and texts where these words occur. The texts concern urbain contemporary discursivities, like urbanistic, ordinary, scolar, mediatic and literary texts and they will be selected according to the specific purpose of each researcher. The analysis will follow two directions: 1) Analysis of the collected words as they signify and indicate discursive filiations in the corpus. 2) Analysis of city words in portuguese language dictionaries, viwed as discursive objects. Based on the results of the analysis, some articles will be written to be inserted in the Enciclopédia da Cidade (ENDICI), an enciclopedia about the city constructed from a perspective that takes the language as an observatory of the urbain facts. In adition, some articles and news will be written and inserted in the website Dicionários, that describes works, authors, institutions and concepts related to the dictionaries. (AU)
