Abstract

The aim of this project is to isolate lactic acid producers microorganisms, mainly D (-) and L (+) isomers used in synthesis of biodegradable polymers. These isomers confer bigger resistance to the formed polymer and to permit it employed in a lot of and resistant stuffs. With the potential producer microorganism, fermentations will be carried out with sucrose and sugar cane, beyond the application of residues as hydrolyzed, autolisate of yeast and corn steep liquor as nitrogen source, to diminish the costs of production. After the lactic acid production, studies of It extraction will be carried out in the fermentation broth. (AU)
