Abstract

Water is responsible to keep ecosystems, cities, agriculture and industrial activities. Water resources monitoring provides information for planning and sustainable use of water. It should be done serving the demand without affect the offer, and also not compromising important aquifer reserves. To model this kind of phenomenon is necessary to consider seasonality variations to characterize the system dynamics. Moreover, considering uncertainty about water table estimations is possible to predict and map risks associated with water exploration. The Guarani Aquifer System (GAS) is an important world groundwater reservoir. In Brazil it has large economical importance, with several cities located under its range. Recharge zones represents 10% of its total area. The aim of this project is to characterize the water resources of Ribeirão da Onça basin, municipality of Brotas (SP), mapping extreme water table depths from simulated transfer function noise models physically based. Is expected to comprehend and modeling GAS recharge mechanismis, one time that Ribeirão da Onça basin is located under recharge zones. To understand the hydrological processes in a basin monitored in detailed scale will give a methodological basis for studies in other direct recharge areas of the GAS or even in other free aquifer systems.
