Abstract

This research project was made to build the computer network of thenew building of DRCC (Departamento de Raios Cósmicos e Cronologia). In recent years, we have a 25% increase in the number of professors, also we increase the number of post-docs and graduate students. New research topics like neurophysics and experimental high energy hadronic physics. Also new researches in cosmic rays physics and neutrino physics join the DRCC. We will use the resources of this project to replace older switches and printers that did not work properly anymore. We also pretend to install a wireless connection, that will cover the full area of DRCC buildings. We hope to improve the network service to higher standards of velocity connection and availability, by cable and wireless accesspoints for all groups mentioned below: Chronology, Auger Observatory (theoretical and experimental), high energy hadronic physics (theoretical and experimental), Physics and Astrophysics of Neutrinos and Neurophysics.
