Abstract

This current proposal aims to evaluate transformations in groundwater quality in rural settlements supervised and managed by INCRA (National Institute for Colonization and Agrarian Reform). The study is situated in an important groundwater system of Sao Paulo State; the system has from moderate to high vulnerability of groundwater contamination. Guarani Aquifer System is unconfined aquifer in the study area. It is source to water supply for these community people. In the first step, it will be made a survey on environmental conditions of the local water sources, hydrogeological and geochemical kingdoms, natural attenuations processes, wells and groundwater quality. The involvement of community in participative framework of Project is basic to continuing the experience at INCRA and to talk back for other settlements. (AU)
