Abstract
Coordination laboratories will be responsible for gene selection and distribution according to the bioinformatics orientation, primer ordering and distribution as well as for providing high quality RNA and first-strand cDNA synthesis. Each Validator Laboratory will have to validate at least 9 full-length genes per month for a two-year period. Groups are required to have experience in RT-PCR, insert subcloning and sequencing as well as equipment and laboratory facilities. There will be no requirement for extensive sequence-finishing and all sequences generated will be submitted to the bioinformatics group as an EST. (AU)
