Abstract

Resorbed alveolar bone are often extremely difficult to rehabilitate to result in unfavorable occlusal relationship, with increased maxillo-mandibular space, causing the inevitable consequences, prosthetic, and increased dimensions buccolingual and occlusal-gingival and that implants treatment can with success, to be an excellent alternative. However, the reduced height of the alveolar bone may limit the anatomical placement of the implant, especially in the posterior mandible and maxilla. The ability of short implants use, with the same scope of clinical success that long, can provide benefits to both patients and to dentists. The aim of this study is to evaluate qualitative and quantive by photoelastic analysis, the strains imposed on the implants and the alveolar ridge, varying the length (short and long), the coating material aesthetic restoration (ceramic and resin) and configuration of the restoration (prosthesis monobloc and crowns). The qualitative and quantitative analysis of the tensions generated by the photoelastic method will be held which will consist of a first premolar and three implants replacing second premolar, first molar and second molar. The prostheses will be discussed: Group 1 - an implant 6mm (WS), a 11mm and a 13mm, Group 2 - two implants 6mm (WS) and a 11mm implant, Group 3 - three implants 6mm (WS), Group 4 - three 11mm implants (control group). A balanced 250N occlusal load will be applied in all structures of the model. Digital photographic records of photoelastic fringes will be held for analysis. Statistical tests will be applied for analysis and discussion of the results. (AU)
