Low energy laser have been found to modulate various biological processes in tissue cultures and animal models. In this project, fragments of bone were obtained from rat's femur and enzymatically digested several times using colagenase to obtain osteoblasts. Cells were centrifuged and grown using large amounts to obtain confluence and after digestion with tripsin, cells were transferred to plaques, dividing the samples in three categories, A which are fluorescent, B whish are non-fluorescent and C whish are the control. The cultured were directly exposed as GAAlAs laser (808nm, 250mW, 200mw/cm2, 2000mJ/cm2, 2 J/cm2, 0,02mm, 5s). The aim of this work was to study the proliferation and osteoblastic differentiation from bone rat tissue in the presence of low level laser that appears to stimulate the osteoblastic differentiation. Cells serving as control were kept in the same conditions as the laser treated cells. After 8,13 and 18 days the results obtained were evaluated for osteogenic patterns such as proliferation and cell viability using Tripan blue, performing the counting of osteoblasts and osteoclasts, Imunohistochemical analysis using bone growth markers (osteocalcin, osteopontin and osteonectin), being the final results analyzed statistically by the Kruskal Wallis and Fisher test methods.
