Abstract

One of the most prominent areas of electricity generation is related to alternative systems in order to diversify the energy matrix. The renewable energy resources (like solar, hydraulic and wind) have already occupied relevant position in this scenery. In the other hand, the on-board electricity generation located inside a vehicle to supply power for traction or propulsion is gaining notability. This fact can be explained by the development of the power electronics as well as the increase in load efficiency. The on-board electricity generation is very similar to the isolated electrical energy systems. This research project will mainly concentrate on wind power generation, solar power generation and the on-board electricity generation (considering hybrid vehicles). In this context, the development of computational model to represent adequately the modern technologies considering its control philosophies and its respective system connections will be developed. The development of the computational models will possibilitate the analysis of the electricity systems related to stability, voltage control, speed control and efficiency. By this mean we expect from this research project a better understand of some characteristics of alternative electricity generation systems and its controls in order to give directions for future researches done by the proponent researcher (in the beginning of his teaching career) and by his team (in the initial stage of researching).
