Abstract

Social exclusion has a determinate role in the make-up of the subjects, denying them the opportunity for recognition, be it about the legitimacy of their specific necessities or their existence as social beings. This social negligence often results in the difficulty of what makes up, that which we call, "memory of the self", a process through which the subject can build his/her own narrative about him/herself and his/her position in time and space. The suffering during this experience ends up generating a distancing in relation to the cultural elements, which culminate in the "absence of memory" - a frequent complaint of teachers about their students - and in the "capacity not to learn". One part of the present project intends to accompany teachers at an elementary school, with the aim to build collective methods, which will favor the development of the "memory of the self" in their students. The other part intends to accompany individually some of the students in order to offer them an "external memory", using filmed scenes in which an individual student is performing a school activity. It is hoped that when faced with their own stories, as well as with the help of significant bonding and when confidence has been established, they can invert the situation described above. (AU)
