Abstract

This research plan proposes elements for design and management of specialized information services in electronic environments, especially those that serve professionals in various specialties and different perspectives on information use. The proposed research has as its starting point the analysis of the information flow in a Radiology Department in order to offer means to think about clinical information retrieval systems, looking at the principles of sharing and use of information which usually are scattered in specific information subsystems. From the analysis of the information cycle, the proposed project aims to ensure the availability of an infrastructure necessary for medical teams have real time information access, in order to accomplish integrated analysis looking for the patient and his/her clinical status. To this end, the research will be conducted from the Information Science theoretical framework and its related areas, with regard to the study of information cycle and the principles of organization and information management. In the development of this research plan, we intent to apply and think about the concepts proposed by the Information Architecture, applying them in order to provide applications to be used on the environment where the research will be conducted.
