Abstract

We intend to develop and analyze low-cost signal processing algorithms, for aplications in acoustics and modelling of biological systems. We shall study cooperative, distributed, and non-linear estimation algorithms, with the goal of reducing their computational cost. In addition, we intend to further develop previous work on fast algorithms for estimation of acoustic images, in particular, we intend to tackle the problem of fast algorithms for near-field images. We also intend to build microphone arrays and efficient hardware implementations for the new acoustic imaging algorithms, and for nonlinear acoustic echo cancellation algorithms. (AU)
