Abstract

The TTA technique has been used in the correction of RLCCr to be promising with excellent clinical results. The TPLO technique has also been widely used, and both are continuously compared in regard to their clinical outcomes. One of the complications of TPLO technique mentioned in the literature is tendinitis of the patellar tendon. Facing this, we propose a biomechanical study to evaluate in vitro, why does not occur in the patellar tendon tendonitis in the TTA technique, given the fact that this technique, the tendon is much more mechanically required. The work aims not only benchmark the tension of the patellar tendon in both techniques but also to understand, in a dynamic phenomena that occur in this structure, when the member is charged with supporting force in the two techniques, both when compared to member loaded without corrective osteotomy. This will be used for the hind limbs of dead dogs aged between 2 and 7 years old and weighing over 20 kg, there is no predilection for race or gender. The study hypothesis is that there is significant difference on the pull of the patellar tendon on the tibial crest tibial osteotomy with the TTA technique compared with the TPLO technique, and there is no significant difference between the tibias with osteotomy technique TTA when compared with normal tibial osteotomy does not.
