Abstract

The present study will evaluate the in vivo osteogenesis in commercial implants, subjected or not to biomimetic treatment (BT), associated or not with laser therapy (LLLT) by means of histological and histomorphometric analyses, and removal torque-testing. In this study, 100 treated surface implants trademarked by the National Implants System (SIN) will be used, which will be divided into four groups a) Group 1: control group, b) Group 2: implant submitted to BT, c) Group 3: implant + LLLT d) Group 4: implant submitted to BT + LLLT. These implants will be inserted in 25 New Zealand rabbits, which will receive an implant of each group. Laser therapy will be performed with low intensity laser (Aluminum-Gallium Arsenide semiconductor- ArGaAl) using 100 mW power parameters in continuous mode, 808 nm wavelengths and 23 J/cm2 of energy density. Prior to surgery, the surface of four implants submitted to BT will be characterized by energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). Fifteen rabbits will be used to evaluate and compare the repair of bone tissue surrounding the implants by means of histological and histomorphometric analyses. The animals will be put down 01, 02 and 06 weeks after surgery, yielding a total of five rabbits per period. Ten rabbits will be used to quantify the union present in the bone-implant interface by means of torque removal testing. The animals will be put down 02 and 06 weeks after surgery, yielding a total of five rabbits per period. The data from histomorphometric analysis and torque testing will be evaluated by the ANOVA statistical test and Tukey test (p <0.05). (AU)
