Influence of porous surface and lasertherapy in the osseointegration of implants and in the skin tissue repair, in osteopenics rats

The purpose of this study will evaluate the effect of lasertherapy in osseointegration of titanium porous implants in osteopenic rats. Will be carried out histological and histomorphometric analysis of bone tissue around the implants. Moreover histological analyze of the skin tissue located on them also will be make. The lasertherapy will be performed with low-power laser, Aluminum Gallium Arsenide of, displaying a wavelength of 660nm, power 40mW, with pre-determined dose of 4J/cm2 and duration of 100 seconds to an area of 1cm2. The porous implants will be manufactured by the powder metallurgy technique of using powder of pure titanium grade 2 and urea. Eighty-four rats will be use in this study, which 42 will be ovariectomized (OVZ) and 42 Sham-operated (SHAM). After 1 month, each of these groups will be divided again, according to the treatment, forming 4 groups, which provide 21 animals each: a) Group 1 - rats SHAM + surgery for placement of implants (CI); b) Group 2 - rats SHAM + CI + implementation of low-power laser (LLLT) c) Group 3 - rats OVZ + CI; d) Group 4 - rats OVZ + CI + LLLT. Seven animals from each group, selected randomly, will be sacrificed 2, 4 and 6 weeks after surgery. The bone fragments containing the implants will be submitted to histological analysis and histomorphometry. These tests aim to assess the rate of bone neoformation, the contact area of the bone-implant interface in different times and the influence of laser treatment on bone. The data obtained in histomorphometric analysis will be tested with ANOVA and Tukey (p <0.05).
