Abstract

The research proposal aims to investigate materials preparation method from colloidal systems mainly to have metals, alloys, single and mixed valence oxides, as well as nanostructured systems. Synthesis of Fe, Co, Ni, FeCo magnetic nanoparticles (NPs) throught modified poliol method is proposed emphasizing the reactional medium, solvent and precursors influences by changing and protecting magnetic nanoparticles with noble metals (Au, Ag, Pt e Pd), giving core@shell type nanostructures. Core@shell NPs surface functionalization is carried out by reacting interfacial chemical groups and then changing the surface for instance by thermosensitive polymers or molecules with specific activities, such as luminescent complexes. Colloidal stability of functionalized NPs in aqueous médium strongly depends on the surface features and changes with parameters such as, pH, ionic strength, particles concentration, and medium composition. Stability ratio (w) of colloidal dispersions of metallic NPs is carried out by absorbance measurement of colloids as a function of electrolyte solutions addition to calculate the stability ratio. Expected results on metallic NPs knowledgement shall be published in scientific periodics, in dissertations and doctoral thesis. (AU)
