Abstract

It presented the proposal of a phylogenetic study with Metrodorea A.St.-Hil. (Rutaceae Juss.) and related species from a wide analysis of morphological and vegetative reproductive organs, nodal and leaf anatomy, especially regarding leaf development due to the large morphological variation in relation to the division of the leaf blade found in the family, to produce phylogenetic trees that support this study. Thus, we will register effective secondary homologies (synapomorphy) to clarify the relationships within the group, to contribute to the knowledge of the evolutionary history of some of the neotropical Rutaceae. For this project will use the five described species of the genus: M. flavida Krause, M. maracasana Kaastra, M. mollis Taubert, M. nigra A. St.-Hil. and M. stipularis Mart. Esenbeckia febrifuga (A. St .- Hil.) Juss. Ex Mart., E. grandiflora, E. irwiniana, E. pilocarpoides Kunth and Conchocarpus heterophyllus (A. St .- Hil.) Kallunki & Pirani, to be used as outgroups. The material will be submitted to the usual techniques for paraffin embedding, preparation for scanning electron microscopy techniques and the dissociation of epidermis and diaphanization. Vegetative and reproductive morphological data will be obtained from descriptions in the literature as well as the observation of specimens collected and deposited in the herbarium SPF. Having the data, morphological and anatomical features are defined and assembled an matrix of taxa / characters, which will be based on an elaborate phylogenetic hypothesis based on the criterion of maximum parsimony. There will be a bootstrap analysis to determine the reliability of the branches of the trees obtained. With the best support tree obtained will be discussed groupings of species formed, and the possible implications of this in relation to the evolutionary history of the group. Will be the reconstruction of ancestral character states, referring to the characters of leaf and nodal anatomy, coded in the matrix, under the same criteria for the development of the tree. With the optimizations will make inferences about the evolution of characters and their changes along the phylogeny. (AU)
