Abstract
Studies conducted by the responsible researcher of this project in cooperation with researchers from Brazil and other countries showed that the perception of a dynamic movement of the human body in a static image evokes the mental representation of this movement, as well as the expectation of implicit movements by mechanisms of empathy and internal incorporation or embodiment. Different body movements in static images generate distinct temporal representations in the individuals causing temporary distortions and illusions, which can be explained by different perceptual and cognitive models of subjective time. The objective of this project is to develop the proposed line of research named "Subjective time in static images". This research program aims to examine the underlying effects of processes of embodiment on the time perception to formulate a model of subjective time which best explains the set of information already obtained. Project 1 will analyze methodological aspects of subjective time studies through the observation of images of movements in different contexts (dance, sports and everyday life). In Project 2, the use of neuroimage will allow to examine the neural circuits involved in the relationship between embodiment and subjective time in a psychobiological perspective. (AU)
