Abstract
The purpose of the compilation is to present the reader with an overview of Trade Union political action of metalcutting in contemporary Brazil. We intend, in this sense, give an account of the diversity of experience and ideological guidelines of industry unions from some of the issues that most challenged both the entities as academic production in the last two decades. What motivated us to develop this project was to note the fact, Social Sciences, Brazilian account to give books offer a varied and comprehensive framework of militancy of the unions of metallurgical industry from various regions of the country. The texts that will integrate the collection deal with traditional entities such as the Steelworkers of São Paulo and ABC, from Rio de Janeiro and Volta Redonda (RJ), enshrined in literature by guiding the Trade Union debate not only industry, but also of National syndicalism. However, we will present research of important trade unions metallurgical production regions, but without the due prominence in Brazilian bibliography, as cases of Limeira, Campinas and São José dos Campos, São Paulo and Belo Horizonte and Ipatinga, Betim, Minas Gerais. Unions still included regions that has been increasing recently by metallurgical production, especially after the installation of automobile industries. Are cases of Salvador, Curitiba and Gravataí-RS. (AU)
