Abstract

Jales region in northwestern São Paulo State, stands out among the main centers of production and marketing of grapes in Brazil. In this region as in other grape growing regions of São Paulo, environmental conditions are conducive to frequent occurrence of diseases throughout the crop cycle. Climatic factors such as low temperatures and high relative humidity, combined with frequent rain, influence the occurrence of diseases on grapevines, particularly mildew, caused by Plasmopara viticola. To guarantee high productivity and visual quality of the fruit, it is necessary during the entire cycle, a large number of applications of fungicides, which is more expensive to producer. The plastic cover has proved a viable alternative to the microclimate change favorably the vineyards, reducing the occurrence and severity of downy mildew and hence reducing the number of applications of fungicides. Thus, the use of phytosanitary warning models are essential for the system to become efficient. Thus, this study will evaluate the efficiency of different warning systems plant in downy mildew control in vineyards 'BRS Morena', conducted with and without plastic covers. The micrometeorological conditions provided in an environment with and without plastic cover will be monitored and provide data to the application of different warning systems and thus will be verified the validity of these models, by evaluating the severity of the mildew and productivity and fruit quality produced. The experiments are conducted in the experimental area in the region of Jales-SP, owned by Tropical Viticulture Experimental Station (EEVT) Embrapa Grape and Wine. (AU)
