Cobalt ferrite development to sensors enclosering application to RF and microwave

Abstract

This document presents a scientific and technological project for the development and electromagnetic characterization of cobalt ferrite, with additions of copper, barium, manganese and nickel oxides, with potential application in the aerospace area. Computer Aided-Engineering (CAE) software based on Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) will be used for microstructure study and evaluation, considering electromagnetic properties measured from microstructure arrangement, formed by ferrites grains and interstitials regions. Cobalt ferrites and cobalt- substituted Ba, Cu, Mn and/or Ni oxides have potential for applications on radio frequency (RF) and microwave sensors packaging. Thus, this work has the goals the development and investigation of intrinsic properties such as complex permeability and permittivity of the CuxCo1-xFe2O4 (x=0; 0,3; 0,7 e 0,9), CoxBa5-xFe24O41 (x=0; 3 e 5), Co0,6Mn0,4Fe2O4 and Co0,9Ni0,1Fe2O4 ferrites, with potential applications in aerospace, such as in RF filters, pulse current transformer, heat and electromagnetic shields (radome), etc. (AU)
