Chronic inflammatory response in Nile Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) fed with diet added probiotic containing Bacillus sp., Pediococcus sp., Enterococcus sp. e Lactobacillus sp.

Abstract

The use of antibiotics as prophylaxis and/or treatment in fish farming favor the emergence of bacterial resistance and contaminates the environment. Instead antimicrobial, the use of probiotics is one of the alternatives that can increase the body's defenses against pathogens. The aim of this paper is to evaluate the effects of three concentrations of commercial probiotic (1g, 3g, 5g of probiotic per kilogram basal diet) containing Bacillus sp, Pediococcus sp, Enterococcus sp and Lactobacillus sp on: the response of cells of the immune sistem, the histomorphometry of the intestinal mucosal, the blood profile, the intestinal microbiota by microbiology and scanning electron microscopy and chemical composition of the carcass in Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). For this purpose will use the randomized experimental design consisted of two groups, the first consisting of two subgroups that include control and naive, fed basal diet without addition of probiotic and the second, composed of subgroups fed basal diet with added probiotic respective concentrations, during 60 days. Each subgroup will have four replicas represented by a 250L water tank that will be placed 50 fish from 8g to 10g on average. Every fortnight there will be the adjustment of population density retiring ten fish per box, up to 20 fishes. The test results shall be submitted to analysis of variance (ANOVA) and comparison of means by Tukey test (P <0.05) when the F values indicate significant differences (P <0.05). For comparison of means by Tukey's test will use the 5% level of probability. (AU)
